A Hands-On Professional Rope Splicing Workshop
with Sean Thompson & Peter de Vries
Step into the Atomic Rope Lab, an immersive, hands-on workshop designed for arborists, rope access technicians, rescue professionals, and climbing enthusiasts who want to master the craft behind professionally spliced ropes.
Throughout the workshop, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of rope construction, fibre characteristics, splice design, and the techniques that create strong, reliable, and professional-quality terminations. Working alongside Sean Thompson and Peter de Vries, you’ll learn proven methods through guided demonstrations and practical, one-on-one instruction.
This isn’t just about following steps, it’s about understanding why a splice works. We’ll cover best practices, quality control, inspection, finishing techniques, and the small details that separate a professional-quality splice from an average one.
Students will make loopie, whoopie, pocket slings with and without hardware. Double braid lanyards and more;
Whether you’re looking to expand your technical skills, improve your equipment knowledge, or simply appreciate the craftsmanship behind modern climbing systems, Splice Lab will provide the confidence and experience to take your rope work to the next level.
