Home » Electrical Hazard Awareness Training (EHAT)

    Time: 8:00-12:00pm

Class Location: Noble Oak Safety & Training, 843 State Route 12, Unit B7, Frenchtown, NJ 08825

The purpose of this 4-hour Electrical Hazard Awareness Training (EHAT) course is to provide arborists, crane operators, and field personnel with a foundational understanding of electrical hazards, minimum approach distances, hazard recognition, and safe work practices when working near energized conductors. This training is intended to support employers in developing safer work environments and may serve as one component in the process of an employer qualifying an employee as a Line-Clearance Qualified Arborist (LCQA), also referred to as “Level 2.”

This course alone does not qualify an individual to work within 10 feet of energized conductors, nor does it make someone a Line-Clearance Qualified Arborist simply by attending. Additional employer-specific training, documented field experience, hands-on evaluation, and compliance with applicable OSHA requirements are necessary before an employee may perform line-clearance tree work within minimum approach distances.

This course will also help prepare students for the Tree Care Industry Association EHAP Specialist exam. Candidates pursuing the EHAP Specialist credential must also maintain current First Aid/CPR and Aerial Rescue certifications, in addition to meeting all other TCIA eligibility requirements.
